Shih-Tzu's Perfect Little 'Elvis Lip' Is So Cute, We Can't Take It – Yahoo
Elvis Presley is remembered to this day for more than his music. While a plethora of his songs are still popular, the iconic King of Rock n' Roll was also known for his swiveling dance moves, charismatic stage presence, and epic Vegas outfits.
The music legend had a facial movement that was a trademark of his — that famous upper lip curl. Leonard the Shih-Tzu may have seen some of Elvis's recorded concerts because he's adopted this memorable mannerism.
In the TikTok from @geridfw, Leanord sat just staring at the camera. His eyes were wide open and he exuded that classic lip move that Elvis perfected. The precious pooch positioned his upper lip into that subtle legendary snarl to emulate the famous performer. Leonard nailed it and looked adorable in the process.
Elvis started the infamous lip curl as a joke between himself and his band mates. He'd tell them, "Watch this," then go in front of the crowd and curl his lip at the female fans. The girls loved it and would literally shriek and scream every time he made the lip move. Apparently, Elvis found the gesture funny and the reaction amused him.
This fluffy breed is also called the “chrysanthemum-faced dog”. This is due to the shape of the Shih-Tzu’s face and the pattern of hair growth on the face, which ends up resembling the flower of a chrysanthemum plant. This nickname originated in England in the 1930s.
