Astral Ascent brings adorable animals to new DLC destined to raise funds for charity
Following Yamat, The Breach Traveler, which added a new playable character to the roster of heroes, and The Outer Reaches, which doubled the number of biomes and introduced a new boss fight, Celestial Haven marks the third DLC released by the studio since the game’s 2023 launch.
The update introduces a brand-new area in the main hub, the Shelter, where a variety of fluffy animals will find their home. Players can watch them interact, move around, and even pet them. But these companions are more than just cute: they’ll also become valuable allies during the runs.
On each escape attempt from the prison, your chosen pet will faithfully follow you through the biomes, using their instinct to sniff out and dig up special rewards across the rooms. True to their cute nature, they’ll also cheer you on during your journey — celebrating when you defeat a Zodiac after a tough battle, level up, or perfect a room.
Beyond caring for animals in-game, players will also be supporting real ones: the studio will donate all the money received from the DLC’s sales to One Voice, a French animal welfare organization that for 30 years has been defending animals around the world against violence and abuse. Hibernian Workshop’s publishing partners have also joined the initiative, ensuring that 100% of the revenue goes directly to the charity.
Designed to fit all pockets, the DLC will offer players the choice to support the cause by paying the minimum price of $1.99. Through this initiative, the studio aims to make a positive real-world impact through its work and the support of its community.
