An Instagram clip of a family celebrating an Indian-style baby shower for their expecting dog has gone viral for its tenderness and cultural charm.

In a heart-warming moment that has captivated social media, a family organised a full traditional baby shower for their pregnant pet dog, complete with rituals, floral decorations, prayer ceremonies and symbolic blessings.

The viral clip, originally posted by Instagram user Jithin, opens with the dog dressed in a specially stitched outfit adorned with delicate flowers and ornaments. Treated as lovingly as an expecting mother in any Indian household, she sits calmly as the ceremony unfolds around her.

In one of the most touching moments, a family member gently applies turmeric paste to her face,  a customary blessing in Indian baby showers meant to protect the mother and ensure a safe delivery. The dog seems relaxed and at ease, enjoying the affection and attention as prayer rituals are performed beside her.
