An unusual Huddersfield business that gives people a chance to get close up and personal with exotic and even scary animals has been honoured nationally.
Loulabelle’s Jungle, based in Milnsbridge, won highly commended in the best animal related business at the Animal Star Awards.
It was set up in 2022 by Louise Steven who was working as a manager in an exotic animal rescue centre and the aim is to give people a chance to see animals close-up that they’d never normally get near.
These include lizards, snakes, a chameleon, tortoise, crabs, chinchilla, parrots, tenrec, frogs, tarantulas, scorpions, snails, cockroaches and millipedes, among others.
Louise said: “During my sessions children get to be safely hands on with animals. We have found that being close up to these wonderful creatures the children grow a passion to protect them.
