Kings-Hants MP's Bernese mountain dog wins international competition | PNI Atlantic News

Kings-Hants MP Kody Blois and his wife Kim’s two-year-old Bernese mountain dog was recently crowned the winner of the first Global Cutest Pets Showdown.

“He’s part of the family,” Blois said of Louis who turns three in January. “It was nice to be able to have him recognized and celebrated. We think he’s cute and we had that validated through the process.”

The friendly competition is organized by the Canadian Animal Health Institute (CAHI), the Animal Health Institute (AHI), and AnimalhealthEurope. It features winners of the three contests held in Canada, the United States and Europe. Votes came in from around the world.

“Louis didn’t just win the hearts of Canadians – he won over our European and American friends as well,” Dr. Catherine Filejski, CAHI president and CEO, said in a news release.

“Team Canada is thrilled to take home the title, and this global competition is a reminder of how our love of pets knows no boundaries and why we work to champion animal health every day. When our pets thrive, so do we.”
