One of the most action-packed, heavily watched games is headed to our television screens today. And no, we're not talking about Super Bowl 60.
Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl XXII will kick off in its usual pup-sized football stadium, featuring a record-breaking 150 dogs from 72 shelters worldwide, including 10 from Florida.
Fifteen puppies with special needs are participating in the Puppy Bowl. It's also not just puppies this year: for the first time ever, Puppy Bowl XXII will feature a special halftime game with senior dogs as "Team Oldies" and "Team Goldies."
“The message of Puppy Bowl is about helping animals who would otherwise not have a great chance in life, especially even more acute in some cases with older dogs because they are often overlooked,†Joseph Boyle, head of content for the Discovery Channel, told ABC News.
Puppy Bowl XXII will air on Animal Planet, Discovery, Discovery+, HBO Max, TBS and truTV on Sunday, Feb. 8.
