FRAMINGHAM — There are many ways to show your pets you love them on National Love Your Pet Day, which lands on Feb. 20, or any other day. You can give them treats, take them for a walk on their favorite trail, or have them groomed.
For a third straight year, local photographer Brea Chislett is shifting gears from her regular job taking family portraits for her business, Wonderstruck Studio, to taking pet portraits for a fundraiser she started called Pooch Playoffs. It's a bracket-style competition involving 16 dogs whose photographs are judged in head-to-head matchups.
The entry fee is $125, with all proceeds benefiting Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, which has been helping find suitable homes for stray, unwanted or homeless dogs and cats since 1961.

“What makes us happier than our pets?" asked Chislett who has a pet schnoodle, Win Diesel. "They love us unconditionally. They’re there for us. They don’t talk back. They’re wonderful.”
She started Pooch Playoffs in 2024 as a way for people to not only make portraits of their pets, but also to help a worthy cause.
