To mark National Puppy Day on March 23, the Guide Dogs charity is calling for more puppy raisers in Dorset to help support people living with sight loss.

Unlike household pets, these puppies require specialised early training and socialisation to prepare them for their future roles as guide dogs.

Elli Cavazza, a Puppy Development Advisor for Guide Dogs covering Dorset, said: "Raising a puppy is hard work but it’s highly rewarding.

"Without the support of our amazing volunteers, we simply wouldn’t be able to train the hundreds of life-changing guide dogs that we do each year to support people with sight loss across the UK."
