I can always tell when my dogs are sleepy. My senior Dachshund starts blinking a lot and then she'll finally keep her eyes closed while holding her head up. Slowly but surely, her head makes it down to the couch and she finally gives in to slumber. My Pug mix gets that glazed stare on his face, then his head drops down for a quick second as he dozes off before quickly waking himself up. He usually falls asleep with his head raised and it's adorable.
