20-Year-Old Dachshund Carefully Picks Just the Right Spot in the Sun and It's Adorable

My senior Dachshund loves to sunbathe. She's obviously not working on her tan so it must be the comforting warmth of the sun that draws her to those beaming spots in the house and on the lawn. Once she finds that special sunny place, she stays there for hours.

Sprout the 20-year-old Dachshund seems to be a sun lover as well. The rescue pup goes to great lengths to find that perfect patch of sunshine before settling down for some "me" time.

In the TikTok from @vintagepetrescue, Sprout was leisurely wandering around outside on the patio at his rescue home, wearing a colorful light coat. Several of her furry friends were enjoying the weather as well and spending some time outdoors.

Sprout was very particular in finding a certain area in which to stand, and seemed to be searching for something specific on the ground. The precious pooch circled one patch where sunbeams hit the patio slates.

"I was wondering why Sprout chose this random spot to stand," the onscreen text read. "Then realized it's where the sun shines through the trees."
