Adorable Pomeranians and Chihuahuas are rescued from disgusting conditions inside … – Daily Mail
More than a dozen pets were rescued last week from a disgusting abandoned apartment in Vista, a city just outside of San Diego.Â
Two cats and 11 dogs were discovered in the apartment over the course of four days in a rescue operation which began on October 1.Â
Humane Law Enforcement officers along with members of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department responded to a call from the building's landlord who had not seen the tenant for weeks.Â
Officials entered the two-bedroom unit and found dogs scurrying through tunnels they had constructed in mounds of trash piled from the floor to the ceiling. Many of the animals were frightened and hiding under furniture.Â
Officials described the conditions of the apartment as 'hoarder-like,' and the rescued Pomeranians and Chihuahuas were said to be in poor condition, with fleas, skin problems and overgrown nails.Â
