There are cats who meow. There are cats who chirp or make super-cute trilling noises. And then there is Prince, a Bengal cat who has apparently decided that the sound he wants to make is “cow.” Or possibly “Kyle”. But specifically, Kyle said with a Southern accent.
In the video, Prince casually strolls across a kitchen counter like he owns the place, which, of course, he does. Everything is normal until he opens his mouth. Instead of a meow, what comes out sounds suspiciously like “cow.” Not once. Not by accident. Repeatedly. Calmly. Like he’s making a very polite request for something he wants badly. Which is obviously a cow.
The hilariously confusing TikTok clip, shared on the account @threenawtycats, has people immediately trying to decode what Prince is saying. The clip quickly became a favorite online, with viewers trying to figure out exactly what Prince was saying. One person wrote, “He’s just country,” which feels correct. Another joked, “I hope he doesn’t have beef with you,” which… cow… beef, get it?
“How do they mispronounce the one word they’re supposed to know?” one person asked. Another said, “Awww, never seen a cat with a speech impediment before!” which feels affectionate and accurate.
Others were convinced Prince was trying to communicate something very specific. “I think he wants milk. He keeps saying cow,” one person suggested. That theory gained traction fast. “Get him a cow already!” another commenter demanded. And then the comments escalated into concern. “Um, so have you got him a cow yet? He’s asking very politely.” Followed by, “All these years of asking for ‘cow’ and you never brought him a cow!?”
