Cat Who Arrived With Newborn Kitten in Tow at Chicago Rescue Has the Internet in Love
Becoming a new mom is a wild ride — even if you happen to be a cat welcoming your kittens. And when one cat mama was in need of help for her and her kitten, she ended up in exactly the right place, totally renewing my faith in humanity in the process.
As the PAWS Chicago TikTok account shared in a video on Wednesday, November 12, a sweet mama cat named Rue ended up at animal control with her newborn kitten, Ruthie, and three weeks later, this adorable pair has thankfully found the perfect foster home.
So far, things are going well for them both at their foster home, and Ruthie is growing stronger — though she's still so tiny (and that face? Are you kidding me? She's so cute!).
They both look so happy and relaxed in the video, which must be a big change from the way that Ruthie's life as Rue's journey as a new mom started out!
"This is Ruthie’s first experience outside a shelter and in a home environment, which is going to do wonders for her development," PAWS wrote in their caption. "It’s also exactly the quiet, calm, stable environment that a mom like Rue needs to raise her little one to be as perfect as she is."
