Fortnite Sidekicks brings pets to the game! – XboxEra

Because we apparently didn’t have enough ways to spend our hard-earned cash in Fortnite, Epic Games has just announced cute pets that will accompany us in many game modes – including battle royale and LEGO.

As per the announcement on the game’s official website, these Sidekicks will have various customization options for you to choose from. They will even be able to level up via their own Sidekick Points. The first cute companion will be the banana-based Peels on November 1st, with others like Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor joining on November 7th. Apparently, cat lovers will also get a nice little surprise soon…

You can customize the Appearance of most Sidekicks one time in your Locker after obtaining ‘em. Your choices are permanent, so make sure to preview the Appearance before locking it in.

In short, choose your style for each of your Fortnite Sidekicks with consideration, as further look changes will require you to buy another pet entirely. Seems like a very unusual way to handle matters, for a game that regularly lets players switch styles on the same skins, weapons and gliders all the time. We’ll see how that one works out once Peels joins the game in a few days.
