Golden Retriever Adorably Tries to Play With Animals He Sees on TV – Yahoo
My dogs don't notice much on television unless animals are involved. If they hear a bird tweet, cat meow, dog bark, or any other animal-type sounds, then they instantly raise their ears and check out what's on the screen. Both my Dachshund mix and Pug mix will watch from the couch for a few minutes and then lose interest.
In the TikTok from @odie_thegoldie, the gorgeous Golden was watching a program featuring some wild animals in their natural habitat. Odie was so mesmerized by what he was watching, he propped himself up on the TV stand with his two front paws and put his nose against the screen. Apparently, this wasn't an isolated incident.
Odie may have been confused as to why he couldn't just walk through the screen and play along with his fellow fur babies. He clearly wanted to be a part of the action.
A study from 2024 revealed that 72 percent of the participating dogs actively watched TV or computer screens at least once a day, though not for very long. Their attention span lasted about one to five minutes, with very few making it to 20 minutes.
Dogs actually have a preference when it comes to television viewing. The study found that film, videos and TV programs featuring animals are the most engaging for canines. Not surprisingly, dogs on the screen draw the most interest.
