Golden Retriever Puppy's Precious Car Nap Has Us Cracking Up – Yahoo
Over the years, millions of parents have used a late-night car ride as a desperate attempt to get their little ones to sleep.
Of course, in the case of Driggs the Golden Retriever, this appears to be no last-ditch effort to get baby to sleep. Nor is it the middle of the night. Rather, it seems like Driggs simply knocked himself out at the dog park and was just too wiped out to make it off his pet pappa’s lap to the passenger seat!
This certainly reminds me of childhood when my brothers and I would fight like crazy to win the precious front seat (aka "shotgun") for a car ride of any duration. I do remember, though, the excitement of securing the front seat, which seems lost on sleepy Driggs.
While all who saw Driggs in the clip fell for this adorable fella, not everyone was down with this puppy riding in the front seat!
Despite the high cuteness factor, dogs should not ride in the front seat, experts at the American Kennel Club caution. In fact, if there were an accident and the passenger airbag deployed, it could severely injure or kill a dog due to the force and angle of the deployment. Also, a pooch in the front seat can distract the driver! The safest place for a pup is in the back seat, secured with a crash-tested harness, crate, or other restraint.
