Elite Treats, LLC, a company based in Boca Raton, Florida, has issued a recall for a single lot of its Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs due to potential Salmonella contamination.
According to a recent notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the issue was identified after a third-party laboratory detected Salmonella contamination in a related, unreleased batch of the same product. Out of caution, the company is recalling the affected lot currently in circulation.
The recall was announced on Feb. 24, and it applies specifically to six-ounce, black-and-gold bags marked with lot number 24045 and an expiration date of April 2027.
The affected treats were supplied to Florida Hardware, LLC, and later made available at independent stores across several Southern states, including:
If you purchased Elite Treats Chicken Chips in any of these states, it’s important to check the lot number on the back of the bag.
