I'm not the first, nor the last, to explain all the reasons we don't deserve dogs, but these faithful companions prove as much every single day we're blessed to be in their presence. I have two loyal pups who constantly remind me to find the joy in life, even when it feels anything but sunshine and roses. In return, all they ask is to be loved, accepted, and seen for exactly who they are.

One of these good boys is a rescue Pit Bull named Doug. There's nothing he loves more in the world than his "pawrents," so when it's time for some much-needed cuddles, he soaks in every second like it's his last.

Sweet Doug looks so much like my rescue Staffy, Franklin, who also sports the same relaxed smile while snuggling up on the couch with me. The brief clip is one you'll want to watch on repeat, if only to bask in this happy boy's face of utter contentment!

I'm sorry to tell you this, but Doug isn't actually a dog—he's an angel. This precious Pit Bull finds no greater solace than when he's with his loving mom and dad, wrapped in their arms while he drifts off to slumberland.

All the proof you need to know that we really don't deserve dogs is in his gorgeous smile. You can just tell he's a total sweetheart and big fan of one-on-one time with his humans. That sigh and smile at the end just make my day brighter!
