
Just like people, dogs have their own unique personalities. That can be especially true for Rescue Dogs, who often arrive with habits shaped by past experiences. Some quirks fade with time. Others settle in and become part of who they are.
For Dutch, going through doorways headfirst simply is not his style. Instead, this sweet pup prefers to back his way through, one careful step at a time. It is unexpected, a little funny, and somehow perfectly him.
It does not seem to matter where Dutch is headed. Leaving the living room, stepping outside for a walk, or approaching a doorway indoors, he consistently chooses reverse. Thankfully, as his family shows us, once he reaches a staircase, he switches directions and walks forward without hesitation. Doorways, though, are a different story.
While his family jokes that the rescue forgot to mention this habit, they are quick to say it would not have changed a thing. With a quirk this charming, Dutch was always meant to be theirs.
