Roughhousing Dachshunds Show What It's Really Like To Have Pets: 'Best Smart Dumb Decision'

Have you ever wondered what life would be like without your furry friends? Sure, the house might be quieter and the couch cleaner, but dogs bring so much love, energy, and fun to a family that it’s hard to imagine life without our pup family members. Two roughhousing Mini Dachshunds are going viral on social media after their human shared a video showing that while dogs sometimes bring chaos, it’s undeniably cute.

In the adorable video, which crossed my TikTok feed and stopped me mid-scroll, creator @tanner-mann shows her two pups calmly lounging on the couch. In the caption, she reflects on how she imagined life would be with her two Mini Dachshunds. She then cuts to a series of clips showing the wild puppies tangling with each other every chance they get. The two Minis are clearly having a blast, wrestling, nipping, and generally going at it as often as possible.

The creator’s video begs the question: would she do it all over again? One commenter asked, “Would you do it over again is the question??? I have one and am thinking really hard about getting another. He’s a year-and-a-half-old male mini dach.”

Just like energetic toddlers, many dog breeds enjoy tussling with their siblings and even their humans. Dogs of different sizes often wrestle as part of normal play and socialization. As common as it is for dogs to wrestle with one another, it’s important to ensure play stays friendly and doesn’t escalate into aggression.
