There are dogs. And then there are dogs who look like they were gently placed on a shelf at Anthropologie and priced at $42. George is the second kind.
He’s stretched out on a leather couch, chewing on a stick treat, looking deeply contemplative, like he’s had a long day managing something important. The wiry fur. The slightly rumpled face. The whole “I am a well-loved stuffed animal who pays taxes” vibe.
TikTok user @georgethewire shared the clip with the caption, “If you think the stick looks like a cigarette, mind your business. It’s been a long day of barking,” which is honestly art.
And the one that made me pause: “He looks like he’d be in an animated Wes Anderson movie.” Which is painfully accurate. I can see him framed perfectly in pastel lighting, staring into the middle distance, while quirky music plays in the background. Or a Cat Stevens song.
There is something about wiry-haired dogs that makes them look permanently well-loved. Slightly scruffy. Slightly distinguished. Like they’ve been carried around for years and still remain adorable.
