For five years, Addie Bojorquez had been bonding with Tommy, her favorite horse, at a ranch near her family’s home in Hollister, California.
Knowing how much Tommy meant to their daughter, Addie’s parents secretly worked with the family’s riding instructor to adopt the horse.
"She pretty much wanted to sell him, but not to just anyone," said Addie's mom, Mayra Bojorquez. "She truly just had Addie and our family in mind and helped make it possible for us just in time for Christmas."
So when it was time for gifts, they surprised Addie with the news. “It definitely put tears in mine and my husband's eyes watching her reaction,” Mayra said.
