
The supermarket chain and Sacor, the French manufacturer behind the product have recalled 200g batches of its Bastides Saucisson Sec with a best before date of 4 March 2026.
As per the standard medical advice, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Tesco are advising anyone who might be experiencing these symptoms to stay away from work, school or nursery until they have ceased for at least 48 hours – as they risk passing on the infection to others.
The illnesses is most commonly picked up from raw or undercooked meat, eggs, unwashed produce and pet contacts – with reptiles and birds being frequent carriers.
The FSA is urging anyone who has bought the product not to consume it, and instead to return it to their nearest Tesco store for a full refund.
Sacor said in its recall notice: “We are voluntarily recalling the Bastides product sold exclusively in Tesco stores, with the best before date 04/03/2026, due to a presence of salmonella.
