Our pets aren’t just “pets,” they are roommates, family members, and lets face it, they can be our boss. A new survey by Power Wizard shows just how far Americans, including New Yorkers, will go to keep their furry friends happy at home. Here's a hint: It's a lot.

According to the study, 72% of pet owners have upgraded or rearranged their home to make it more comfortable for their pets. That includes moving furniture, buying better beds (sometimes for the dog, not ourselves), and turning our homes into mini pet palaces.

Nearly half of pet owners have pet cameras so they can check in while they’re out, and over 25% admit they look within 15 minutes of leaving. 55% adjust the thermostat because the cat can’t possibly nap in 73 degrees when she prefers 71.

It’s not just about the house setup. Over a third of people have changed their work schedules or work from home during the day just for their pets. Our dogs and cats are basically running HR now.

65% of owners believe their pets live a better life than they did growing up, and for Gen Z, that number jumps to 70%. In other words, many of New Yorkers think our pets have it better than we ever did as kids.
