Woman on Walk Spots 'Ancient' Dachshund and He's the Sweetest – Parade Pets

Dachshunds are one of the world’s most iconic dog breeds. These sausage dogs can be found everywhere, from on leashes to pictured on home decor, clothing, and even in movies. Everybody loves a Dachshund, even if they’re a little stubborn!

They’re so sweet, though! Recently, one woman met possibly the world’s most ancient Dachshund on her daily walk, and she couldn’t get over it. He’s just perfect in every single way. I hear that if you pet him, it’s good luck!

Athena and her new bestie are adorable together. I bet she’ll be stopping every time she sees him from now on, as she should. He loves interacting with people, and he looks like he has some serious wisdom to share with her! If I were her, I’d take all the wisdom I could get!

Since this is just a dog she sees sometimes on her walk home from work sometimes, we don’t really know anything about him at all. He’s definitely old: if I had to guess, he’s probably in his late teens, maybe even early 20s. His entire head is so grey it’s almost white!

Dachshunds come in a few different sizes: standard Dachshunds, which are bigger, tend to live shorter lives. Such is life with larger dogs, unfortunately. Still, a standard Dachshund can live up to 14 years with proper care.
