Feeding Pets of the Homeless nonprofit expands with Valley donation sites – WKBN.com

HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) — Local organizations are teaming up with a national nonprofit to help feed the pets of people who may have trouble providing for their furry companions.
Feeding Pets of the Homeless is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing pet food for the food insecure and emergency veterinary care for pets that belong to people experiencing homelessness. The organization works with partners nationwide to collect donations and distribute essential supplies to help keep pets healthy and with their families.
In the Shenango Valley, Tails of Hope and Mercer County Food Bank have joined the nonprofit’s network as official pet food donation sites at the following locations:
Additionally, Hermitage Petco will also collect canned dog and cat food at checkout through December in support of this new partnership.
“Tails of Hope believes feeding your pets and your family should not be an ‘or,’” said Soraya Hejazi, executive director of Tails of Hope. “We are proud to expand our community service to local residents by being a pet food collection site through a partnership with Feeding Pets of the Homeless and strengthening our community ties through cooperation with the local Mercer County Food Bank as a pet food distributor.”
