The TikTok video introduces "Birdie the cow dog," set to the notable "Toy Story" song "You've Got a Friend in Me" as a black-and-white cow gives gentle kisses to its golden retriever canine companion, who casually sits there before reciprocating. "This is the sweetest, cutest thing ever," exclaims one watcher, as another points out the two seem to be living their best lives. It just goes to show that friendship knows no bounds, and every living being deserves to be loved. So sweet!

Despite their imposing size (usually weighing in at over 1,000 pounds), cows are often gentle giants who are curious about their environment and enjoy socialization. As a herd animal, they tend to hang out together and prefer to stay close to other cows in their family, and even have been noted to have best friends, a la the friendship the cow in the TikTok video has clearly struck up with the dog.

Cows enjoy being patted, scratched, and brushed, and studies suggest they even have their own unique personalities. While cows can be playful and adorable, they are not necessarily pets. But they will certainly love feeling safe, secure, and cared for, often paying back their human caretakers with loyalty and docile affection. Just like any other animal, though, cows can be territorial and protective of their young, so it's best to proceed with caution if you're unfamiliar with cattle.
