HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)- Law enforcement in Henry County arrested a man accused of shooting a neighbor’s pet Chihuahua.
The pet’s owner told investigators she was inside her home when two gunshots were heard coming from a neighbor’s property. The owner went outside and discovered her dog had been shot. Responding deputies said the dog appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the groin area.
The neighbor in question had left the area. However, deputies were able to contact them by phone. The neighbor returned home and was interviewed.
The neighbor, identified as Brad Flood, 48, claimed the wounded Chihuahua was in his backyard with several other dogs. Flood said the dogs were barking and would not leave his property. Flood allegedly told investigators he retrieved a firearm from inside his residence and fired one shot in the animal’s direction. He told deputies he didn’t believe he struck any of the dogs.
