Sarah Hyland Says the 'Transformative Power' of Pets Inspired Her Latest Project (Exclusive)

The actress teamed up with Purina to create the Courageous Together Collection and raise awareness about domestic abuse survivors and their pets

Speaking with PEOPLE via Zoom, the Modern Family alum, advocate, and domestic abuse survivor announced her partnership with Purina for the Courageous Together Collection, which features a variety of items for both pet lovers and their furry friends to wear (or display) to inspire others.

"I just love working with Purina, and this collection is so special and it's so important," Hyland, 34, says. "Purina shares a lot of my beliefs in the transformative power of bonds that we share with our pets."

"So 100% of every purchase is donated to RedRover through The Purple Leash Project." RedRover works to keep abuse survivors with their pets. Hyland mentions that less than 20% of domestic violence shelters allow pets. "So these donations really go to help save not only humans but their animals as well."

As for what is featured in the collection, there are matching sweatshirts for humans and pets, along with a tote bag and pet beds. Hyland also helped design bespoke charm necklaces, bracelets, and more in partnership with female-owned company Coastal Caviar.
