Video of Maine Coon Playing Fetch Is Too Cute for Words – Yahoo
Have you ever seen a cat play fetch? We haven't, so when we came across @the_maine_coonies_ video of her playing fetch with her Maine Coon, Casper, we were delightfully surprised to see how good he is at it!
The video starts with Mom brushing the kitty with what looks like a clean mascara wand, which you can tell he enjoys. But what he really wants his for his mom to throw it so he can go fetch it! The whole thing is too cute!
Casper was having so much fun! We loved seeing him bat the 'toy' around after fetching it before taking it back to @the_maine_coonies_ to throw again! Commenter @AVA had a great suggestion for her, "You should get little spring toys! They bounce and go way farther. My own Maine coon ADORES THEM!"

A neighborhood cat adopted us a few months back, and we think that maybe her family moved and just left her. She enjoys being inside sometimes, but prefers to be outside and really doesn't know how to play. After watching the video, we tried to get her to play fetch but she wanted no part of it!
This made us wonder if all cats like to play fetch or if it's more of a random play act. Turns out, many cats enjoy playing fetch, according to PBS. "Many people have seen dogs fetch, but cats like to get into the game too. Despite their very different hunting and play styles, fetching appears to combine elements of predatory and social behavior for both species."
